ALA boys to hunt fights in US

FOR the next six months, ALA Boys, the WBO Oriental Bantamweight champion Michael Domingo and RP light welterweight king Mark Jason Melligen will make their respective campaigns in the US.

This was announced by ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer yesterday.

The young Aldeguer said that both Domingo and Melligen are now ripe to be given the chance to shine internationally.

Aldeguer added that there are a lot of opportunities for the two fighters to fight in the US, that is why they need to stay until they will achieve something.

“We feel that it’s about time that Domingo and Melligen will be exposed in the US. We feel that it’s about time for them to get a chance for bigger fights,” explained Aldeguer.

With Boom-Boom

Domingo might fly to the US with Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista in November while Melligen and Z “The Dream” Gorres will follow a week later.

Bautista and Gorres are scheduled to fight in the US.

The Boholano phenomenon will fight underneath the Ricky Hatton vs. Paul Malignaggi card on Nov. 22 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada while Gorres is scheduled to fight on Dec. 5.

Experience

Domingo has already fought in the US where he is part of the RP Team that defeated Team Mexico during the Boxing World Cup in Aug. 11 of last year.

Carrying a 37-15-2, 16KOs ring record Domingo scored a seventh round TKO win over former world champion Ratanachai Sor Vorapin last Sept. 14 at the Cebu Coliseum.

Melligen, who sports a 12-1, 9KOs record will make his first appearance in the US. (RCM/ESL of Sun.Star SuperBalita)
