Friday, October 17, 2008 ACES Eye Referral Clinics unveils new laser machine
ACES Eye Referral Clinics, Perpetual Soccour Hospital and Velez Hospital’s eye surgical clinics, have revealed their latest technological acquiaition: the CustomVis Pulzar Z1, a refractive laser designed specifically for custom surgery.
In ophthalmology, custom surgery is used to treat complicated kinds and various degrees of refractive visual disorders such as myopia (nearsightedness), hypermetropia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. The Pulzar answers the problems of many people with these visual problems that show little to no success with other standard lasers.
ACES is the first to acquire this laser machine in the Visayas and Mindanao. Unlike some lasers, the Pulzar is a highly practical and environment-friendly invention. It does not require the use of dangerous toxic gases. It is an efficient machine that requires shorter warm up and setup time. It has faster time for treatment; hence it is able to treat more patients at a safer and faster rate.
With Pulzar’s innovative software and advanced platform, ACES can now produce top quality results using the patented solid-state technology. The machine also generates and designs a unique and elaborate surgical plan for every treated eye. As this plan corresponds to the operative corneal position, the surgical treatment is more accurate.
Dr. Reuben Aquino, one of the clinic’s refractive surgery specialists, emphasizes the importance of custom surgery, “There is a growing need for custom surgery that cannot be ignored since refractive disorders of the eye have gotten more complicated. Conventional lasers are not able to treat such disorders with accuracy and precision. We at ACES are happy in acquiring the Pulzar Z1 from CustomVis as we will now be able to treat people who need appropriate custom treatment.”
