Tisa to host Guardo Motocross

EXTREME sport enthusiasts will once again be treated to a gravity-defying show and electrifying aerial stunts with the staging of the 2008 Atan Guardo Motocross this Sunday at the vacant Bayong lot in Bohon, Brgy. Tisa.

The one-day race is among the highlights of the annual fiesta celebration of Sitio Mohon.

Close to 30 Cebuano daredevils from Mandaue, Talisay, Liloan and Talamban will see action in different categories that include Experts, Executives A, B and C, Beginners, and Pantra division.

The top three winners in the experts class will receive P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively, while the first three finishers in the executives, beginners, and pantra action will get a uniform prize of P1,000, P800 and P500.

Bankrolled by noted sportsman Atan Guardo, the event is co-presented by Uniherb Philippines, one of the country’s leading health companies that produces popular food supplements such as Arthro, Heartvit, Kidneycare, and Diabet.

It is also supported by Brgy. Tisa top councilman Hon. Jeson Guardo with technical support from race organizer Jerome Java.

“This is our own way of promoting a healthy well-being and providing entertainment to our youth through sports. This is also part of our efforts to keep them away from drugs and other vices,” said Atan Guardo, chairman of the Greater Cebu Sports Organizing Committee (GCSOC)—a private organization that is involved in Cebu sports development.
