Armed men pull robbery on Indian trader in Talisay
ROBBERIES appear to be on the rise in Talisay City with the latest twin heists involving an Indian trader and a bakeshop in Barangay Cansojong last Wednesday and yesterday dawn.
Three unidentified armed men held up moneylender Joginder Paul, 42, of Cabusas Compound in Barangay San Isidro, Talisay City, while collecting loan interest from his
clients in Sitio Kimba, Cansojong around 11 a.m. last Wednesday.
At gunpoint, the robbers took the victim’s P15,000 cash, a Nokia 1200 cellular phone and a Casio wristwatch worth P15,000 each.
Uncontented
Not contented with the loot, the gunmen also took Paul’s Honda Wave 125 motorcycle, leaving the helpless victim by the roadside.
The motorcycle was later found abandoned near the Cansojong Elementary School at around 4:45 p.m.
The police released the motorcycle to Paul after he presented documents showing his ownership of the unit, including the official receipt and the certificate of registration.
Robbery
In another report, two robbers barged into Arbee’s Bakeshop in Barangay Cansojong and ran off with a mobile phone and P9,350 in sales yesterday dawn.
The robbers, one of them armed with a .45 pistol, reportedly clambered up the bakeshop’s glass showcase and held up cashier Janice Almanzor, 20, a resident of Barangay Dumlog.
Almanzor, who owns the cellular phone, and another bakeshop attendant were helpless when the suspects took the cash from them. The bakeshop operates 24 hours a day.
Reports said that the robbers walked towards the neighboring coastal barangay of Tanke after the robbery. (GC)
