LTO 7 receives bomb threat
SECURITY was beefed up at the compound of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 and City Traffic Operations Management (Citom) on N. Bacalso Ave., Cebu City after a text message was circulated last Sunday that the area will be bombed.
Cebu City Police Office Director Patrocinio Comendador said that one of those who received the text message was Citom Executive Officer Arnel Tancinco, who informed CCPO Traffic Section Chief Mariano Batiancela about it. Batiancela then informed Comendador.
“Sir gdning pagbantay mo kay bombahan ang lto. Ang mga citom pabanta-ya.daan,” the text message read.
Comendador, however, believes that the threat was just a prank of a disgruntled LTO client.
But the CCPO still coordinated with the LTO 7 to strengthen security measures in the compound.
Letter
About two weeks ago, a woman, who claimed to be a wife of a Moro Islamic Liberation Front member, sent letters to two Regional Trial Court judges about plans to bomb the hall of justices in the cities of Mandaue and Cebu
The letter-sender later identified as Erlinda Cagata, 44, however, only wanted to delay the hearing of the cases she is facing in court.
Cagata was arrested and will be facing charges for what she did. (JTG)
