Sunday, November 02, 2008 Blooms beyond this lifetime By Luis A. Quibranza III
IF skies have the stars to illuminate each and every passing night with variety, then land would brag of her flowers.
A view from space would show colors of brown, green, blue and white dominating our planet. From your bedroom window, the garden outside boasts more than just your primary color palette. The aroma of morning dew invites your cheeks to move a bit to make room for a subtle smile—you hold it for a while—and you realize how beautiful life actually is just looking at a flourishing floral display.
When a busy year is ready to greet its eleventh month, the same display now covers up sidewalks and streets leading to the memorial parks. The requests for roses and chrysanthemums, to name a few, are evident everywhere. And if prayers addressed to heaven today had color, the clouds would be in shades of pink or blue like cotton candy sold in a church’s parking lot after Sunday mass.
Why are flowers so special? Even the bible uses wild flowers to signify splendor and belittle King Solomon’s earthly fashion.
Why do people pay quite an amount to see their beautiful bouquet stand proud today and lie in the garbage bin the next?
“Flowers have a special appeal, beauty and warmth that uplift the spirit makingone feel good. The sight of flowers, especially en masse is always breathtaking. A very versatile gift—for birthday, get-well soon, promotion or even when there’s no occasion—flowers never miss to delight the recipient,” shares Doris Mongaya, the managing director of PRWorks, Inc. and a flower enthusiast who’s had over 10 years of experience in the flower business.
Today, the expression of love blooms beyond this lifetime. And what better way to profess it than through an extravagant offering of flowers.
