Developer opens mall extension

THE P600-million lagoon re-development project of Ayala Center Cebu (ACC) was opened to the public last Thursday with at least 15 stores already in operation.

Cebu Holdings Inc. (CHI) president Francis Monera said the rest of the 40 stores at The Terraces will open in the following weeks, in time for the grand opening in December.

The new ACC mall feature, which was constructed starting March last year, has a total leasable area of 8,000 square meters, which can accommodate 55 tenants.

The Terraces, designed to look like other Ayala malls in Makati (Greenbelt and Glorietta), is positioned as a tourist destination and is part of ACC’s lifestyle development.

Most of the 15 stores already operational at The Terraces are restaurants, including Lemon Grass, Café Laguna, Pancake House, Sizzling Pepper Steak, Teriyaki Boy, Big Mao, Shakey’s, Laguna Garden, Gilligan’s Island and Gustavian. Other stores inlcude Starbucks, Bo’s Coffee, Figaro, Vanille Patisserie and Yellow Cab.

A “good mix” of Manila-based and homegrown brands is expected to open in due course at The Terraces. Some popular Manila locators are American casual dining restaurant T.G.I. Fridays, Thai restaurant Banana Leaf and Japanese coffee shop UCC.

A specialty bookstore, wellness outlets, spas, more coffee shops and more high-end, as well as affordable restaurants, will complete the ACC’s new food and beverage strip that is part of the more than P850-million expansion project of CHI for the mall. (NRC)
