Tuesday, November 04, 2008 Couple won’t do sex before him, so he rapes girl
TWO teenagers were forced to have intercourse by a parolee who followed them from a Halloween Dance they had attended earlier Sunday dawn.
And because the man could not perform under duress, the parolee, who pointed a knife at the couple, told the man, 18, to move away from his girlfriend, 19, and raped her himself.
This gave the man time to run for help.
Arrested Sunday dawn was Freddie “Potpot” Sanchez, 25, who is out on parole for a robbery and drugs case.
The incident happened in Sitio Mahayahay, Barangay Catarman, Liloan, not far from Sitio Dapdap where a Halloween Dance was held.
The victims identified Sanchez as the one who threatened them with a knife, took the man’s belongings and forced them to
undress and have intercourse.
The girl told a Sun.Star Cebu news team that she and her boyfriend already noticed Sanchez at the dance.
When they walked along Sitio Mahayahay, they noticed him from afar with a shirt covering his face but thought nothing of it. The man said he even made a move to wave at Sanchez as he recognized him.
However, instead of greeting him back, Sanchez allegedly pulled out a knife and poked it at the man. He allegedly asked him to produce a cellular phone.
The man said he did not have one but offered his P40.
Undress
Instead, they were forced to turn their backs on Sanchez and were ordered to undress. The man reasoned out, saying he did not have a cellular phone and there was no need for it.
But Sanchez continued to threaten them, leaving them with no choice but to do as told. When they were completely nude, Sanchez told them to have intercourse.
“Nahadlok naman ko. Ingon dayon siya ‘dugaya, uy. Ako beh’ (I was afraid. When I refused to do as told, he told me to move over),” the man said. The man said he and his girlfriend had understood each other and that while Sanchez was abusing his girlfriend, he ran to a nearby house to ask for help.
He claimed an elderly couple took pity on him and gave him clothes while another resident who had a bolo with him agreed to accompany him back to rescue his girlfriend.
“Pagbalik namo, wala na siya. Ako nalang uyab nahabilin nagsige ug hilak (When I came back, I only saw my girlfriend crying),” the man narrated.
He added that Sanchez also ran away with all their clothes.
“Wa naman siya’y sanina. Ako nalang siyang gigakos (I just embraced my girlfriend because she had no clothes on),” the man said.
The residents took them to the police station to report the incident.
Denial
Sanchez, however, denied he was behind the crime.
He argued that he would have fled when the police vehicle arrive to pick him up.
He said there were many persons who could attest that he was at the dance.
He admitted he was once jailed for drugs and robbery but that he would not do anything to ruin the provisions of his parole.
“Ilang ilhanan, ako ra kunong tingog (They claimed to recognize me through my voice),” Sanchez said.
However, the woman said she is sure it was him.
“Mao gyu’ng pormaha ug ang tingog. Daan naman siya’ng gasunod-sunod namo (He is of the same build and he had the same voice. He has long been following us),” the girl said.
Senior Insp. Ramon Ortiz, Liloan Police Chief, said they had a medical certificate from the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center stating there was “definitive evidence of sexual abuse or contact.”
As for Sanchez’ denial, he said it was his version but the two had positively identified him. (MEA)
