Wednesday, November 05, 2008 U.S. Election Watch at SM
THE U.S. Embassy will hold “Election Watch” today in celebration of democracy through elections. The program will be held simultaneously from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia in Manila and at The Atrium of The Northwing at SM City Cebu.
U.S. Ambassador Kristie A. Kenney will host the event in Manila.
U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission Paul Jones, program host in Cebu, will lead U.S. Embassy officials and staff in welcoming officials and representatives of the various sectors of the Cebu community to the “Election Watch” events.
“Election Watch” will feature continuous updates of election results from live cable TV feeds, trivia contests, and information sources from the Internet.
Voting machines that use ballots similar to those actually used in the U.S. will be available for those who would like to participate in the mock elections.
U.S. Embassy representatives will also be on hand to help answer questions anyone may have regarding U.S. elections and the U.S. election process.
