Drive-thru lechon manok atbp.
By Luis A. Quibranza III

“Hi sir! Would you like to add an additional atchara to go along with your liempo meal No. 5? How about an upsize for your puso?”

Okay. So the operations in these first-ever lechon drive-through joint in Cebu may not be that similar to their western fast food counterparts. But this is indeed a surprise for everyone. If there’s a more perfect day (discounting special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries) to talk about lechon, then that would be on a sunny Sunday like today.

Located along the south super highway in Mambaling, GL Lechon is the first in the city to offer lechon manok – together with an option motorists would be ecstatic about: a driveway to accommodate and receive your orders directly from your driver’s seat.

Say goodbye to compromising “no stopping anytime” road signs by switching on your hazard lights while waiting for your lechon manok to cook.

“We observed mostly in Cebu, that drivers have a hard time parking because stalls that sell lechon manok are, in general, over-the-counter types.” Says GL’s manager Rodney Largo

“So why not get the concept of convenience and apply it to the business for the customers’ sake?” Adds Largo.

Of course, you can also dine in the location if you’re game. Over lunch, the place offers set menus to go along with their already tasty daily offerings such as their lechon manok, liempo and pork barbeque.

GL is open Mondays to Saturdays at 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. On Sundays, they’re only open during 4 – 11 p.m.

The location is an ultimate treat for people on the road. Travelers on the south road can simply stop by or drive-thru for lunch. And for the heck of it, it’s just a really fun and new way to order your lechon manok after all these years.
