Tuesday, November 11, 2008 Full Circle By Ritchie Landis Doner Quijano
A year of traveling by wanderlust artist Celso Pepito will finally come to a halt with “Full Circle”, the last leg of a traveling solo exhibition in different parts of the country. The art show unveils on November 12, 2008 at the SM art center and will run until month’s end.
Pepito’s painting all carry the theme of Filipino values and family because he’s been for a long time an advocate, and committed to the propagation of positive Filipino values, strengthening family ties and developing spiritual understanding.
He’s come a long way from being a conservative painter to becoming one of the most respected senior painters in Cebu.
His works and style of painting have transitioned towards modernism by embracing the style of cubism.
“Full Circle” is a kind of retrospective show because it will survey the artist’s development and evolution. So expect to see his early works in the conservative and impressionist style then from there the forms will transform into cubes.
