Saturday, December 06, 2008 Sharing her gifts By Jenara Regis Newman
WHEN Felisa Y. Chiongbian celebrated her birthday this year, she received donations for the Georich Livelihood and Learning Foundation (GLLF), of which she is the founder and moving spirit. In keeping with her generosity, GLLF decided to share these donations with other charitable organizations.
In simple ceremonies held over lunch at the Regal Business Park Hotel, GLLF distributed checks to some 18 organizations in Cebu, including Sun.Star Foundation, Asilo de la Milagrosa, Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion Outreach Program, Inayawan Dumpsite Livelihood project, Pilipinas Foundation, CENEWOF, SAPAK Foundation and the Good Shepherd Sisters. Other beneficiaries were three organizations in Metro Manila and six in Tagaytay City, where Mrs. Chiongbian lives part of the year.
Before the distribution of checks, GLLF gave a recognition award to Mrs. Virgincita Y. Tio, for her service to the foundation and a posthumous award to Rosario K. Chew, which was received by her sister Josephine Chew Baylen.
Helping Mrs. Chiongbian distribute the checks were family members, among them George Chiongbian, Nenita Chiongbian and Jaja C. Rama.
