THE happy Zontians had fun during the Area Meeting held in Iloilo City. With the theme, Global Empowerment Through Local Action, the event featured interesting discussions on women issues, like violence against women, aptly delineated by Atty. Katrina Legarda; and workshops on environment thrusts and livelihood programs and entrepreneurship.
The National Costume Night and fellowship shows made the gathering colorful and harnessed the hidden talents of the Zontians in special numbers lifted from Broadway and Hollywood blockbusters.
Hats off to Area 3 director Sandra Gomez for her tireless dedication to her work. My special thanks to Mafelou Agriam of Zonta Iloilo 2 for making it easy for me to prepare for the presentations of Zonta Cebu 1 and 2, cited as the most applauded number. Our number was a colorful journey from Hollywood classics to the contemporary hits which depicted immortal Hollywood stars.
