Ayala Center Cebu opens Sto. Niño exhibit

KICKING off this year’s Senior Sto. Nino feast, Ayala Center Cebu opened the annual Sto. Nino exhibit on Jan. 8, at the second level rotunda area (between Kamiseta and Celine) of the mall.

This year’s Sto. Nino exhibit theme, “Growing Together in Grace as the Body of Christ” will feature more than 30 different images owned by devotees from Cebu and the neighboring provinces.

The exhibit will be highlighted by the 10-feet miraculous Sto. Nino, the featured image from the fluvial procession and, a 200 year-old miraculous image.

The Ayala Center Cebu Sinulog festivities will start with a procession and Sinulog dance number of some 60 street children from Parian, followed by the opening of the Senior Sto. Nino exhibit.

Novena

There will also be novena prayer at 6 p.m. daily starting on Jan. 9 and petitions will be celebrated through a mass on Jan. 23 at the Consojong Shrine, Talisay City. All donations will be used for the feeding program of malnourished children in Cansojong.

The Sto. Nino exhibit is an annual commitment of Ayala Center Cebu that aims to honor the church as the communion of the faithful and provides a venue wherein Ayala Center Cebu takes part in the spiritual and social development of the community it serves.

This year’s celebration encourages shoppers, families, visitors, balikbayans, devotees, and religious groups to welcome New Year 2009 through strengthening their faith.

The exhibit opening will be participated in by Cebu City Acting Mayor Michael Rama and Cebu Holdings Inc. president Francis Monera and Msgr. Cristobal Garcia.

The exhibit will run until Jan. 19.

In this time of prayer and thanksgiving, Ayala Center Cebu continues to take part in the Cebuano celebration of culture and faith.
