Delos Santos told to act on complaint v. Bartolo
DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte has tasked City Administrator Leo delos Santos to act on the complaint filed by eight plantilla personnel of the City Information Office on charges of mismanagement against CIO head Renato E. Bartolo.
Delos Santos said Duterte issued the order to him Wednesday night after the mayor was informed about the complaint.
The five-page complaint dated September 16 was addressed to Duterte, with delos Santos being furnished copy of the complaint.
"You are the city administrator. You do what is best," delos Santos quoted Duterte as telling him.
Delos Santos said he had called a meeting Thursday with City Legal Officer Melchor Quitain and Human Resource Management Office Acting OIC Marcelino Escalada Jr. to determine what course of action to take.
"By tomorrow, I will come up with an official position on what has to be done," delos Santos said Thursday.
"Of course, we will exercise due process here," he added.
This developed as delos Santos vehemently denied suspicions he was behind the filing of the complaint against Bartolo.
"I'm not aware of that, but I received copy of the complaint. The mayor has been accordingly informed about it," delos Santos said.
"That's his opinion. But as a lawyer, I always exercise a high sense of decency," he added.(Charles Raymond A. Maxey)
