Complaints over anti-smoking policy expected By Ben O. Tesiorna
THE City Prosecutor's Office is expected to be flooded with complaints on violations of Davao City's newly implemented anti-smoking ordinance.
Three complaints were filed Thursday by the Davao City Police Office against two Dabawenyos and a resident of Panabo City before the CPO.
Charged were Adam Escasenas, 20, and Neljoy Morgades, 18, both residents of Bunawan and Damiano Flores Jr., 30, a resident of Barangay Kauswagan, Panabo City.
Flores, a jeepney driver, was arrested last November 10 in Lasang at around 10:30 p.m. while driving his passenger vehicle.
Escasenas, on the other hand, was arrested inside a videoke bar in Bunawan last November 12 at around 8 p.m. while Morgades was arrested while smoking inside a passenger jeepney along Bunawan last November 12 at around 7:40 p.m.
Close to 100 people were arrested for the violation of the anti-smoking ordinance.
