Bonguyan to probe Millana-deputy mayors rift
By Charles Raymond A. Maxey

DAVAO City Vice Mayor Luis C. Bonguyan is set to look into the reported rift between Barangay Affairs Office head Venus Millana and several deputy mayors.

But Bonguyan clarified to reporters that it is only Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte who has the authority to decide on the fate of his deputy mayors.

"I'll talk to her (Millana)," Bonguyan said.

Millana came under fire from several deputy mayors for allegedly failing to act as a bridge between them and the mayor.

Millana, the deputy mayors said, was the source of all the intrigues that put them in an awkward situation.

Because of this, 11 deputy mayors are reportedly poised to tender their courtesy resignation.

Bonguyan said deputy mayors are under the supervision of the mayor and that they must enjoy the trust and confidence of the local chief executive.

Bonguyan added he would try to find out the real cause of the misunderstanding.

When asked on the matter, City Administrator Leo delos Santos said he has no knowledge about the impending resignations.

"I'm not aware of that. I don't even think that is true," delos Santos said. CRAM
