Bus firms to file motion for recon By Ana Felicia Dulay
THE five bus companies penalized by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for unfair competition are set to file a motion for reconsideration. According to LTFRB Regional Action Officer Edgar Crisanto Violan, Reolsyl filed a motion for reconsideration last Nov. 11.
Violan said the other bus companies are set to follow suit. Other bus liners penalized by LTFRB were earlier identified as Ma. Dorita Liner, Christian Transport, AC Transit and Doris Liner. The bus liners were penalized for undercharging or overcharging bus fares.
Violan said LTFRB is set to make a decision on the Reolsyl's motion for reconsideration on Monday.
The implementation on the bus liner's suspension, he said, is the task of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
He said most of the buses penalized have been stripped of their plate numbers.
"Pero kahit wala ng plaka, takbo pa rin ng takbo," he said. (They still operate though they no longer have plate numbers.)
