POC Solidarity Course winds up

THE four-day Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) Solidarity Course ends Friday at the Holy Cross of Davao College.

Philippine Sports Commissioner Leon Gonzalo Montemayor, PSC regional director Vic Sai, resource speakers Jojo Jimenez, and Ariel Paredes are expected to award certificates to some 20 graduates.

The participants will also receive sports-related materials for completing the course that primarily tackled the new rules and guidelines of the International Olympic Committee.

Sports coordinators of local government units, colleges and universities along with representatives from various local National Sports Associations were also oriented on the goings on in the IOC and the POC.

Meanwhile, preparations shift to high gear for the Train the Trainers seminar slated December 16 to 20 in Digos City.

The training is also part of Montemayor's grassroots development programs for Region 11.

No less than former Asia's sprint queen Lydia de Vega-Mercado will be among the distinguished list of resource speakers.

Joining her are former Davao Eagles head coach Adriano Go (basketball), Amateur Boxing Association of the Philippines Region 11's Romeo Desabille, Mindanao Taekwondo Association's Jun Te and badminton's Rizza Quicoy. MLS
