Woman nabbed for shabu; 5 arrested for loose guns
By Aurea A. Gerundio

POLICE arrested a woman at Mini-Forest, Barangay 23-C along Quezon Boulevard, Monday night, for possession of methampethamine hydrochloride (shabu).

The Heinous Crime Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Fulgencio Pavo Sr. and members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA, formerly Rano) were actually looking for one Alma Angani at around 4 p.m. following the issuance of a search warrant on Angani's residence.

Angani, however, was not around. Police instead chanced on Amina Bucay who was caught red handed repacking crystalline substance believed to be shabu. Police confiscated 16 sachets weighing a total of two grams, two Nokia 3210 cellular phones, and shabu paraphernalia.

The arrest of Bucay was witnessed by the Barangay 23-C Councilmen Nasser Mualam and Omar Bucay.

Bucay is detained at the HCIS office and will be facing charges on the violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002) while police continue tracking down Alma Angani.

In another police report, five persons were arrested during a raid on loose firearms at Sabroso Village in Matina Kabacan, Saturday afternoon.

Arrested at around 3:40 p.m. by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Grou (CIDG) led by Chief Insp. Joel Consulta and the Talomo Police were Edgar Iba¤ez, 45; Dessie Gansino, 44, widow, said to be the live-in partner of Edgar; Pepito Iba¤ez, 30, househelper; Christopher Ibañez, 45; and Remigildo Manug, 40.

The raid was staged after the issuance of a search warrant against Edgar.

Confiscated from the group were a .38 revolver with serial number 05892, 16 rounds live ammunition and four empty shells of the same caliber, 10 rounds live ammunition for a caliber 5.56 pistol, and four live ammunition for a caliber .45 pistol.

Police further believe that the group was earlier in a shabu session as the raiding team also found a four-gram sachet of shabu. AAG
