Davao equestrians to compete in Cebu

THE Davao Horse Club is joining the first Mayor Tadeo Ouano Cup at the Mandaue Reclamation Area in Mandaue City on January 18.

Davao's delegates will be competing against Cebu City, Ormoc City and Bukidnon bets in the annual federation circuit.

Davao's chances in the competition was given an added boost with the opening of the Marina Park Stables recently, the first horse riding school in Mindanao.

Organizer Cebu Equine Owners/Builders Sports Riders Association treasurer Jacinto Mendez said the January event is the official kick-off of the circuit, which expects between 50 to 60 participants.

Mendez told Sun.Star Davao in a recent interview here that it would be the first time for Cebu to hold an oval race.

The circuit, according to Mendez, will also feature a horse show where different breeds of horses will be showcased.

The Sports Unlimited television program will cover the event. MLS
