Dads to discuss changes on re-routing law
By Charles Raymond A. Maxey

THE Davao City Council will hold an executive session to discuss proposed amendments to City Ordinance 108 or the re-routing Law.

Davao City Councilor Emmanuel D. Galicia said no definite date has been set for the conference but made it clear the meeting is important for the council members to ventilate their opinions on the proposed amendment.

Galicia said the council cannot discuss the matter during regular sessions since discussion on the proposal eat up most of their time.

Last Tuesday, another long debate marred the proceedings when Danilo
Dayanghirang, chair of the committee on energy, transportation and communication, presented the item for second reading.

"It's time consuming. We have to take that up in an executive session,"
Galicia said.

The proposed amendment to City Ordinance 108 became controversial after operators and drivers in the city accused Dayanghirang of dilly-dallying the proposal.

But Dayanghirang was unfazed with the criticisms, calling on the drivers to be patient as he is working on the proposal.

"I sympathize with the plight of the drivers. In fact, I'm doing my best to expedite the process," Dayanghirang said in a press statement.

Dayanghirang is in the process of endorsing the committee report to his members for their signature and approval of the proposal. CRAM
