Davao homeowners call Villar arrogant
MEMBERS of the Solariega Homeowners Association called Sen. Manny Villar arrogant for not meeting with them when he visited Davao City on Sunday.
Homeowners headed by Jerry Napalit, its president, and Bill Martin, president of the Davao City Homeowners Federation, claimed Villar snubbed them when they tried to seek an audience with the senator Sunday morning at The Marco Polo Davao.
Napalit said they wanted to air their problems related to housing but instead were shocked to hear what Villar told them.
"I'm here to talk about politics," Martin quoted Villar as telling them.
"We were dismayed (by the senator's actuations)," Martin said.
However, a member of Villar's staff denied the accusation, saying it was the senator who was harassed by the homeowners as soon as he entered the hotel.
"You should talk to us," the staffmember quoted them as telling Villar.
The senator, the staffmember said, was at The Marco Polo for a scheduled press conference at the second floor of the hotel.
"It's not true," she said referring to the accusation that Villar snubbed the homeowners.
Certain Solariega homeowners reportedly complained about the poor standard of the houses being built in the subdivision.
Villar's staff members said a representative of Solariega has been assigned to listen and look into the complaints.
Napalit said they had wanted to inquire from Villar if he is the owner of Crown Asia, which, he said, is the developer of Solariega. CRAM
