200 MNLF members secure 'Araw' fest

OVER 200 members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) were deployed by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte to help secure the city during the 66th Araw ng Dabaw celebration Sunday.

MNLF Division Commander Umar Ambit, commander of the MNLF Special Regional Security Force in Davao City, said that the MNLF was asked by the city mayor to help patrol and secure the city during the celebration.

Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte said he was optimistic the MNLF can help solve the Davao International Airport (DIA) bombing. He even suggested the release of former MNLF leader Nur Misuari who is detained in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, saying the detained leader could help in finding the culprits.

Ambit said they patrolled Rizal Park and its vicinity during the celebration. JDV
