Girl, 15, cries rape
POLICE arrested Friday night a laborer accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in the victim's residence in Millenium Village, San Isidro, Bunawan, Davao City.
The Bunawan police led by PO3 Arnel Masauding picked up Buenaventura Failnar, 33, of Panabo City, temporarily staying in San Isidro, at around 8:30 p.m.
The victim, "Joan" (not her real name), identified her rapist to the police.
She said Failnar raped her at noontime of March 20, while she was alone.
Probers are still waiting for the result of the medical examination by the Davao Medical Center but a case of rape has already been filed against Failnar based on the testimony of the victim.
"Gi-file na namo ang kaso base sa statement sa bata. Pero ang suspek wa moangkon kay iya ra lagi daw gihipo-hipo. Wa may kawatan nga motug-an (We already filed a case based on what the child said. Although the suspect denied it saying he just groped her. No thief ever admits)," an investigator said.
Failnar is detained at the Bunawan police precinct. AAG
