Jesus wins

THE Jesus Lord of Promises (JLOP) beat Taytayan Development Projects, 89-78, Saturday to become the third team to secure a quarterfinals seat in the ICBL Cup Eighth Conference at GSIS Matina covered court.

JLOP's Michael Gamil topscored for his team with 21 points while Bambi Pega fired 24 in a losing cause in the event organized by the Inter-Church Basketball League and sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines Region 11.

Over at the Garden Oases covered court; All-Nations Christian Fellowship trampled La Roca Christian Fellowship-B, 106-53, while Foursquare Gospel Church clobbered Jireh Christian Center, 91-81.

Two games are on tap in the resumption of the tournament at the Ayala Gym Sunday.

It will be do or die for both Seventh Day Adventist and Taytayan squads at 1 p.m. with a quarterfinals seat at stake. In the first game at 11:30 a.m., division 2 defending champion Sta. Ana Parish plays La Roca-B. (MLS)
