Yamyamin scores an ace in Taliban

JOEL Yamyamin fired a rare hole-in-one to bring home a brand new Kawasaki motorcycle Sunday in the Taliban Open golf tournament at the Lanang Country Club here.

Yamyamin, a two-handicapper, scored his first ace at the par-3 hole no. 9 using a Titleist Pro V-1 ball and Honma 3-star 8 iron. It was witnessed by his teammate Danny Nagayo, Paking Santos, Alex Buyco, Jun-Jun Grandeza and Louie Salamat.

The team of 22-year old Mark Lopez and 56-year old Benjie Ibaņez, however, emerged over-all team champion in the best ball format organized by the Rotary Club of North Davao.

Ibaņez and Lopez made five birdies for a 14-under net 68. They were followed by the tandem of Alfonso "Tibor" Marcelino and Jimmy Larrabaster, who had back-to-back eagles at hole nos. 7 and 8 followed by a birdie at the 9th.

Marcelino chipped both eagles near the green.
