Relish meals with Cardinal Ceramics
By Ana Felicia Dulay

WHEN stepping inside Cardinal Ceramics shop, one gets the feeling of being transported into another place, another time.

Inside the shop, ceramic plates and wares in all colors and sizes greet the eyes. Leaf-shaped plates, salt and pepper shakers, butter plates with animal-shaped handles, cups, saucers and they come in all colors too. Ash gray, periwinkle and magenta -- candy colored dining wear designed to make your meal enjoyable.

At the entrance, one can find birdhouses made out of wood, ideal for those who have birds in their homes. At the center of the room, pairs of wooden chopsticks contrast the striking colors of porcelain around. Hand-woven placemats complement the eclectic patterns.

Don't let the imposing facade and glass walls intimidate you. The prices are affordable. I lifted an apple green coffee cup and saw the tag price underneath: P180. Not bad. A canister with a rabbit-shaped handle is pegged at 320.

An elegant fruit bowl, ideal for parties and functions is priced LESS than P400. Vases in different pastel colors are strewn across the room. Canisters for salt, sugar, flour and other condiments dominate one rack. I even found different bath salts in delicate glass containers, along with ceramic toilet accessories.

So for those of you, who haven't gone to this shop yet, go ahead and check it out.

Cardinal Ceramics Davao is located at Palma Gil St., Bo. Obrero, Davao City. You may call them at telephone numbers 222-8899.
