Arroyo to visit Davao Tuesday

PRESIDENT Arroyo arrives in Davao City Tuesday, the first leg of her seven-city, one-week Mindanao tour.

Ms Arroyo is expected to arrive at the Davao International Airport at around 10 a.m. Tuesday where she will deliver her first major statement after her return from state visits in Japan and South Korea.

From the airport, she will proceed to the Marco Polo Hotel to attend the National Economic Development Authority (Neda) board and Cabinet meeting. After which, she will hold a press conference at the Lotus Court of the hotel.

In the evening, the President will host a dinner with business and community leaders where she will present the Mindanao initiative program of her administration.

Ms Arroyo will depart for Malungon, Saranggani on Wednesday and will stay overnight in General Santos City.

She will also attend the graduation of 6,740 barangay tanods from 364 barangays of General Santos, Sultan Kudarat, Saranggani and South Cotabato (Socsargen) areas.

On Thursday morning, the President will lead the flag-raising ceremony and oath of allegiance at the General Santos City Hall before flying to Zamboanga City.

In Zamboanga, Ms Arroyo will hold a vin de honneur at Magini Port Naval station to be followed by a command conference and a dinner later in the evening.

On Friday, she will depart for Maguindanao where she will do a ribbon cutting at a government project in Datu Odin Sinsuat then another in SK Pendatun. Arroyo will stay for the night in Cotabato City.

On Saturday, Ms Arroyo will meet about 5,000 teachers in Marawi City before proceeding to Iligan City.

Sunday is reserved for the President's personal time with her family.

On Monday, Ms Arroyo will inaugurate Baying Central Elementary School in Iligan City and will inspect bus terminals in the area before proceeding to Butuan City. From Butuan City, she will fly back to Manila. BOT
