Sta. Cruz councilor dies in road mishap

A MUNlCIPAL councilor of Sta. Cruz, Davao del Sur was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was pinned down by a mini-bus in Tagum City Sunday morning.

Killed was Ignatius Bajo, 42, a councilor of Sta. Cruz.

Reports said Bajo, a member of the Karancho group, was onboard his motorcycle from Sta. Cruz and was traveling towards Tagum when the accident happened at around 9 a.m.

Bajo's motorcycle was bumped by a minibus along Km. 61 Tagum City resulting to his death.

Meanwhile, a policeman was gunned down by two unidentified assailants in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur last June 6.

Victim was identified as PO2 Edgar Villacantin. The victim was riding his motorcycle at around 6 a.m. when the gunmen shot him along Brgy. Barayong in Magsaysay.

Vilacantin was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. Motive of the killing is yet to be established. BOT with reports from Peng Aliño
