10 councilors leave for Lakbay Aral Wednesday

THE Davao City councilors' Lakbay Aral program by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) starts Wednesday.

Councilor Susabel Reta told reporters Tuesday there are ten of them who confirmed to join the trip that will end Friday.

Reta, who chairs the City Council committee on tourism, enumerated other officials joining the trip are Councilors Peter Laviņa, Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz, Angela Librado, Diosdado Mahipus, Amilbangsa Manding, Mabel Acosta-Laman and Vice Mayor Luis Bonguyan.

Reta said the wives of Galicia and Bangoy will join the group trip to Sagada, Baguio and Banaue.

"Madayon na gyud ang among trip (Finally, our trip will push through) and I hope that we will all learn from the activity," she said.

The trip was originally scheduled last June 4-8. It was, however, postponed because of typhoon Dodong.

The Lakbay Aral program participated in by least 500 barangay captains last May 26-31 found the participants welcomed in Metro Manila by tropical storm Chedeng.

Based on the records at the DILG, the allowed budget for each councilor is P12,011.

"Minimum of P12,000 lang talaga ang allowed budget sa amin pero 'yung package namin for the trip amounted to P16,000. Kung magkano man ang excess, kami na ang bahala," Bonguyan was quoted in an earlier interview. AAG
