NPA rebs surrender in DavSur
TWO brothers who are members of the New People's Army (NPA) surrendered before the Hagonoy Municipal Police Office in Davao del Sur on Tuesday.
The brothers who decided to return to the folds of the law at around 10 a.m. were identified as Michael Baquiran, of Sitio Samugan, Barangay Aplaya, Hagonoy and Jeffrey Baquiran, of Sitio Piapi Crossing, Padada, Davao del Sur.
A caliber .45 pistol and a red book containing confidential documents were also turned over by the Baquiran brothers to the police.
The two admitted they belonged to the NPA front operating in the boundary of Kiblawan, Davao del Sur and Sultan Kudarat in Cotabato.
Police expressed hope that more members of the NPA are going to voluntarily surrender. The surrenderees are presently undergoing tactical interrogation. RCO/RCB
