TFD soldiers implicated in mauling still unknown
SASA police Thursday said they have yet to identify the three soldiers, believed to be members of the Task Force Davao (TFD), who mauled a man and indiscriminately fired their firearms inside Amores Videoke on Km. 10, Sasa, Davao City shortly after midnight Tuesday.
"On-going pa ang investigation. Pero base sa guard on-duty at Navy Camp in Panacan, ni-ingon nga ang sakay sa taxi, member of Task Force Davao. But still it is a subject for confirmation," said Chief Insp. Leonardo Felonia, Sasa police chief.
A certain Deding sought police assistance after three unidentified suspects allegedly mauled him inside the videoke bar and pointed their M-16 armalite rifle on him. The soldiers fled the premises when the police arrived.
Initial investigation of Sasa police showed the unidentified suspects immediately flagged down a taxi driven by one Wilfredo Martinez.
Martinez told authorities that while driving the suspects towards the Navy Camp in Panacan, Davao City, the soldiers, identified from the uniform they were wearing, indiscriminately fired their guns.
But in an earlier interview with Maj. Orlando Suarez, executive officer of the TFD, he said they had already pulled-out their troops detailed at the Navy Camp and reassigned them to Diwalwal, Monkayo, Compostela Valley.
Felonia urged the victim of the mauling incident to file his complaint against TFD members. GPP
