Intel agent fires gun inside bar
By Ben O. Tesiorna and Rex Otero

A MAN who claimed to be a civilian agent of the Military Intelligence Group is now being investigated after he allegedly fired his gun indiscriminately inside a resto bar in Davao City early Tuesday.

The suspect was identified as Ricardo Sandoval, 51, businessman and a resident of San Pedro Village in Buhangin, Davao City.

Witnesses claimed Sandoval was drinking inside Cafe Jacinto locate at Jacinto Ext. around 1 a.m. when he suddenly fired his 40mm pistol several times.

The intoxicated Sandoval went berserk after he discovered that his wallet was missing from the back pocket of his pants, a few minutes after he paid his bill, witnesses said.

Sandoval fired several shots near the entrance of the bar and did it again as soon as he got inside the place, prompting customers to scamper to safety.

Sandoval said his wallet contained his gun license, his memorandum order (MO) and memorandum receipt (MR) issued by MIG 11, SSS ID, P500 cash and other pertinent papers.

Police recovered from the suspect one caliber 40 pistol with serial number RF5504, one magazine with ten live bullets and two empty shells.

Two bar customers identified as Florante Mandalano, 31, of Notre Dame Village in Cotabato City, and Art Lurent, 22, student and resident of Greenhills Subdivision in Ma-a filed complaints against Sandoval.

The two complainants claimed they were alarmed when the suspect suddenly fired his gun a meter away from them.

Sun.Star SuperBalita Tuesday tried to interview Sandoval at the San Pedro Police station where he was said to be under custody, but was informed that he was out having breakfast with two MIG agents.
