By Gwen P. Posadas and Rex Otero

A MAN is now detained at the Mati police station for allegedly burning the vehicle of his former employer Monday evening.

Police arrested Aldrin Adilan, of Quezon, Mati, Davao Oriental, while two of his companions, who shot the driver and the passenger of the gasoline delivery tanker, have remained at-large.

The incident occurred along the national highway fronting Davao Oriental Provincial Hospital around 8 p.m.

The gasoline tanker is owned by Mindanao Trucking Services and driven by one Roque Obias, 42. The passenger was identified as Rey Flores, owner of a Petron station in Baganga, Davao Oriental.

Police said the tanker was flagged down by three men infront the hospital. Obias stopped the vehicle after he identified Adilan, a former driver of the Mindanao Trucking Services, as among the group.

As the tanker surged forward, Adilan allegedly grabbed the steering wheel and said: "I will get even with the owner of this truck by burning it."

He also ordered his companions to shoot Obias and Flores.

Obias and Flores sustained gunshot wounds on their heads and were brought to the hospital.

Adilan was arrested by police who responded immediately at the crime scene. He is presently detained at the Mati Police Station. However, his companions were able to escape. GPP/RCO
