Man who molested co-worker nabbed By Gwen P. Posadas
ELEMENTS of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) 11 arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly molesting an 18-year-old co-worker at their employer's house in Sampaguita Street, El Rio Vista, Bacaca, Bajada, Davao City, in the evening of August 24.
Danny Pannes, of Sampaguita St., El Rio Vista, was arrested by CIDG elements at the SM Merchant store on Sampaguita Street at around 7 p.m. of Monday following sexual abuse complaints filed by the victim identified as Lilian (name withheld), of Bangkas heights Subdivision, Toril.
The suspect and the victim are both employees of SM Merchant, a dry goods store owned by Marcelino and Helena Dahinog.
Police investigation showed that the suspect sexually abused Lilian at around 9 p.m. while she was asleep at their employer's house, located at the back of SM merchant.
Lilian said she was awakened by somebody on top of her.
She later recognized the suspect as Panes, nephew of her employer.
Lilian said that despite her resistance, the suspect managed to satisfy his lustful desire.
The following day, the victim told his cousins about the incident prompting the latter to confront Panes.
The suspect allegedly got mad and threatened them saying, "Pagdemanda modidto. Kinsa ray maulawan, kay kamo raman, kay kamo man ang babae. Wala bitaw mawala sa akoa kay lalaki man ko (Go ahead and sue me. Anyway, you'll be the one put to shame because you're a woman. I will lose nothing because I'm a man)."
The CIDG had already filed a formal case against the suspect before the City Prosecutor's Office. GPP
