Next stop for Minda bets -- MFG
MINDANAO champions of the recent 3rd BIMP-Eaga Games look forward to competing in the 3rd Mindanao Friendship Games slated October 19 to 24 in Mati, Davao Oriental.
Ateneo de Davao University power spiker Erika Agnes Tiamson, who led Mindanao's title-victory over host city Puerto Princesa and East Kalimantan, said she is excited to see action again in the MFG.
The 19-year-old Tiamson, who hails from Marbel, said she will have to keep in shape for she expects stiffer competition in the Mati meet since she may have to play against her BIMP-Eaga teammates who were mostly from Tagum City.
Tiamson's `kababayan' Izah Sueno, now a member of the De La Salle University swimming varsity team, hopes the coming sports for peace program for Mindanaons won't coincide with the UAAP meet.
"I really want to play in the MFG. I hope there would be no conflict with the schedule," said Sueno who got two individual golds in Palawan.
BIMP-Eaga Games athletics double gold medallist Sharra Grace Tesaluna of the Holy Cross of Davao College said she hopes to register better records in her favorite events -- shot put and discus throw in Mati.
Tesaluna bagged the golds in the same events and a bronze in javelin throw in the revival of the BIMP-Eaga Games. MLS
