TMG seizes 4 colorum taxicabs

THE Traffic Management Group (TMG), led by Police Chief Insp. Bibiano Alquizar, confiscated four illegally operating taxicab units in Ilustre St., Davao City last Tuesday afternoon.

In an interview with GMA-Testigo last Thursday, Alquisar said that they conducted the operation upon the request of Col. Conrado Laza, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief.

TMG initially conducted the operation against "colorum" taxicabs along Ilustre St., in front of Gaisano South Mall around 3 p.m.

Confiscated were four Kia Pride taxicabs with plate numbers MBZ-848, JSB-888, GEV-345 and 7C-DP-63T.

"We will still continue with our random check-up at the different streets in the city," Alquisar said.

He said the taxi unit owners have violated the RA 4136, of the Land Transportation Code, Section 7, with regards to colorum vehicles.

Aside from the TMG's operation against colorum taxi units, they are also implementing the "Oplan Ilaw".

All public and private vehicles sighted roaming the streets with no lights, loud horns and illegal attachment of plate numbers will be confiscated by the TMG. GPP
