Reinventing the mall experience

THE Philippines is said to be "The Mall Republic" with the numerous malls sprouting all over the country.

In fact, the presence of a mall in a particular town or city is looked up to as a sign of development and a very welcome addition to an area's real estate development.

With malls come better market and prices for the surrounding areas; and what used to be vast grasslands in one swoop becomes a real estate agent's dream -- prime property.

Despite the ups and downs of the economy, Davao City has remained to be among the most prosperous cities in the country, and is thus host to a lot of malls and is the prospect for location by some other malls that have yet to establish roots here.

Not surprisingly, the vast land that used to be peppered by wood buildings and fences along MacArthur Highway in Matina has been generating a lot of interest as beams and posts were set in place and work has been going on non-stop for months now.

The construction of the NCCC Mall Davao is a fitting highlight as NCCC launched a year-round celebration of its 25th anniversary. It is NCCC's most ambitious project so far.

From the no frills, very affordable one-stop shopping experience that NCCC has been known for, it now brings in the concept of malling to new heights that brings the family together in whatever activity they might want to indulge in, to spend their quality time together while at the same time maintaining the very affordable one-stop shopping experience that just about Mindanaoan has associated with NCCC.

Strategically located at the Ma-a Junction in Matina, where just about every resident and traveler passes through, it is highly accessible to everyone.

The fully air-conditioned mall is designed to house international, national and local establishments and is envisioned to be the most favored shopping, dining, and entertainment destination in the city.

Slated to open before the Christmas shopping rush and will be in full operation by next year, NCCC Mall Davao will have a fully-secured three-level shopping area with 55,000 square meters of space for lease and basement parking.

The Supermarket will be well planned and spacious to make doing the grocery become a shopping experience by itself and not a chore. Surely, the 25,000-strong Cool Customers Club (CCC) members, frequent NCCC shoppers who own small stores, will enjoy getting their stocks here.

The NCCC Department Store to be christened NCS will be the center of lifestyle and will carry the latest fashion. There will also be a themed food court.

And the most exciting of all, NCCC Mall Davao will have a first in Davao City -- a 24-lane ten pin bowling and billiards center plus four state of the art cinemas.

Finally, after decades of duckpin bowling, Dabawenyos and those from neighboring areas will experience the bowling that's recognized as a highly competitive sport worldwide.

Aside from the Supermarket and NDS, NCCC will also bring in its subsidiaries to compliment and complete the experience with its own hardware, health and beauty, school and office supplies, toys and many other stores.

There's so much more in store at NCCC Mall of Davao, you simply have to drop by as soon as its doors open.
