Village cop nabbed for firing his gun

POLICE authorities arrested a barangay policeman after he was accused of indiscriminately firing and aiming his gun at his neighbor early Sunday.

The suspect was identified as Ernesto Bingan, a resident of Kasilac, Barangay 76-A, Bucana, Davao City.

Based on reports from the San Pedro police, Bingan indiscriminately fired his gun three times, pointing upward.

He also aimed his gun against his neighbor identified as Nelson Nestorios, 23.

Janet Ruizo, a teacher, said that she tried to stop the suspect but was only warned: "Unsa molaban ka kay apilon taka og pusil ron (You want to get involved because I'll shoot you)?"

Police are not yet sure if the two complainants would file a formal case against the barangay policeman.

Bingan was turned over to Barangay Captain Robert Olan-Olan, of Barangay 76-A, for further investigation. GPP/RCO
