Tatoy flashes forward
HOLY Cross of Davao College (HCDC) track and field varsity mainstay Clent Tatoy never stops to master his craft.
Tatoy's spectacular stint in the highly urbanized city category of the 2000 Palaro ng Bayan in Socsargen where he collected some six gold medals could not be forgotten.
His feats at the time earned for him the "Mr. Speed" and "Sprint King" titles in the boys 18-under field after besting the country's best in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes.
Indeed, Tatoy was Davao City's most be-medalled athlete in the defunct Palaro spearheaded by then presidential son and San Juan Mayor Jinggoy Estrada.
Tatoy's rose to fame continued from one competition to another including superb performances in the annual National Open Track and Field Championships, National Prisaa Finals, Araw ng Dabaw and Kadayawan competitions and Mindanao Friendship Games.
Tatoy pocketed two gold medals in men's 4 X 400 and 4 X 100 relay events and two silvers in his favorite 100 and 200 in the just-concluded 3rd Bimp-Eaga Friendship Games held in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.
He lifted Team Mindanao to the over-all first place finish in the revival of the Games.
Tatoy is now gearing for his campaign in the third Mindanao Friendship Games slated October 19 to 24 in Mati, Davao Oriental. MLS
