Art and concepts By Jojie Alcantara
A GROUP of young talented artists combined their skills to come up with Galacio Art & Concepts, yet another avenue for expressing artistic freedom and individuality through diverse thinking.
They believe that art plays a vital role in claiming the pursuit of peace and harmony through inculcation and education. They also believe that amidst current situations whether global or local, Davao showcases huge opportunities for new breed of home grown talents to shine with quality where artistic achievements are concerned.
Launched in the Courtyard of Matina Town Square, Street Ramp '03 highlighted an exhibit of unique hand-painted designs of clothing for every generation to appreciate. Dubbed the Sul-ob Collections, each set is unique in its artistry and color, making the outfits a natural canvas for vivid and colorful expressions of individualism and style.
These creations were made by the following artists: Anton Cadayon III, Virgie Daylusan, Arnil Navarro, Danny Uy Jr., and Edick Galacio.
In Galacio's Gallery along the Courtyard mall, the featured artist of the month is renowned Carlota de Pio with her paintings. It also has a Restobar where one can enjoy food and drinks while looking appreciatively at the artworks.
The young talented models of Galacio are King Resty Ong, Claynmar Cachola, Rizza Jane Hocson, Queenie Lyn Galacio, Anthony Pilapil, Irvin B. Padilla, Cyrus Luigi del Muro, Persis Niņa Mula, and Marlon Kwan. Production staff is composed of Dats Paidomama (Choreographer), Musical Scoring by Katribu; and Ryan Ignacio (scriptwriter and director) and Edick Galacio (concept and design).
