Ampatuan sends help to Mati fire victims

SECRETARY Datu Zamzamin L. Ampatuan, chief of the Office of Muslim Affairs (OMA), sent food and relief goods last Saturday to some 400 Muslims whose houses where razed to the ground at Purok Kaislaman in Mati, Davao Oriental two weeks ago.

The beneficiaries were members of some 100 Kalagan families rendered homeless in the September 27 fire in the Muslim-dominated purok.

Immediately upon being informed of the calamity, Ampatuan sent food assistance thru the OMA regional office headed by lawyer Cabinbanan Q. Mamukid.

Hadjia Subanon Quibo and her husband motored to Mati last Saturday to personally bring rice, canned goods and other foodstuffs. Also delivered to the fire victims were assorted used clothing. The foodstuffs and relief goods were distributed wth the assistance of Davao Oriental OMA provincial officer Camar Samoing and his staff.

Through Samoing, the beneficiaries thanked Secretary Ampatuan for the assistance which they said would go a long way in tiding them over their difficulties while they pick up the pieces of their lives as fire victims.
