Emar battles RMC 11 in Coke `Go' finals
EMAR Learning Center and Rizal Memorial Colleges beat Holy Child School of Davao teams Sunday to arrange a titular showdown in the 2003 Coke Go-for-Goal football tournament at the Agro football grounds here.
Emar barely edged Holy Child A 2-1 while RMC crushed Holy Child B 5-0 to book finals seats in the championship set this weekend.
Emar's Joey Sola knocked in the first goal in the 61st minute but Holy Child striker Carlo Bolasa forced a 1-1 standoff in the 70th.
Clifford Bacera, however, blasted in the 79th to wrap up the match sanctioned by the Davao Football Association under Albert Pingoy.
Ryan Oreheula and Rufino Samuel Mantos sizzled with two goals each to lead scoring for heavy favorite RMC squad.
Oreheula broke the ice in the fourth minute as Richard Calamaan followed it up in the 20th.
Then Mantos scored a back-to-back in the 38th and 48th minutes as Oreheula secured another goal in the 64th for the rousing triumph.
Emar booters clobbered Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU)-A, 3-1 while RMC-A scourged Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High School 7-1 in the semi-finals
Saturday.
Holy Child A and B teams will battle for third place in the Davao leg that serves as a qualifier for the all-Mindanao regional finals.
