GT Golden 106, Pro-Active 86
DUTERTE Agilas-bannered GT Golden squad dusted off Team Pro-Active 106-86 to clinch the Barangay R. Castillo Agdao Open Basketball Tournament crown recently.
Most Valuable Player Rey "Dodong" Biņas scored game-high 20 points for GT Golden while Alexander Bower and Boy Atablanco added 17 and 16 markers, respectively.
GT Golden showed much firepower early on the first canto as captain ball Alen Delvo exploded with back-to-back baskets including a perimeter basket in the cagefest presented by Brgy. Captain Nilo Lacida.
Pro-Active's six-foot-nine Samigue Eman, Zandro Cabanlit, 6'4 Danny Salvacion, Delio Catre and Roy Josol combined forces in an attempt to rally their team in the third quarter but only to trim GT Golden's lead to eight points.
GT Golden cagers Bower, Miller Dennisson and Mark Anthony Bonifacio took turns in scoring three-pointers while Atablanco along with the Bonleon brothers, Arvin and Ayie, provided backcourt support.
Chief Supt. Isidro Lapeņa and Rep. Vincent Garcia witnessed the finals encounter of the tournament that was held as part of the fiesta celebration of the barangay.
The event was sanctioned by the Basketball Association of the Philippines (BAP) Region 11.
