4 sued for murder of DPWH employee

FOUR persons are facing murder charges after they were accused of killing an employee of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Digos City in last September 13.

Facing the charges are: Joel Alterado alias Weng-weng, Andy Denopol, Ronald Ansero, all residents of Purok 6, Lower Balutakay, Hagonoy, Davao del Sur and Ronald Nerie of Corner Kamansi-Mangga Sts., Toril, Davao City, who allegedly killed Felino Reoyan of Purok 6, Lower Balutakay around 8 p.m. last September 13.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Digos formally filed a murder case before the Digos City Prosecutor's office (DCPO) following the complaint of Evangeline Reoyan, the victim's wife, and Climaco Babao, a witness, both residents of Purok 6, Lower Balutakay.

Based on the report of CIDG, Felino was shot dead by unidentified persons with the use of a handgun outside his residence. The victim succumbed to several gunshot wounds to the chest, causing his instant death.

Authorities discovered through the sworn statement of Babao that Alterado and the three other suspects revealed their plot to kill Felino last September 8.

Babao and the suspects attended the birthday celebration of Alterado's mother when the plan was hatched. He also revealed that he overheard the suspects airing their grudges against the victim.

The victim allegedly scolded the suspects a few weeks back, while the group was having a drinking session near his residence.

The suspects are still at large, while authorities are awaiting the warrant of arrest against the suspects. GPP
