Riot breaks out in Ilang, 4 hurt

A RIOT among youngsters broke out anew Saturday night, this time in Ilang, injuring three teeners and a young man in the process.

SPO1 Willie Damasco of Bunawan police said two rival gangs figured in the encounter around 10 p.m. at Crossing Minterbro, Barangay Ilang.

"Imbestigahan pa namo ni kung unsa gyud ning mga grupoha," Damasco said. (We still have to identify these groups.)

Jovino Artiaga, 19, of Ilang Riverside sustained two stab wounds on the nape.
Police said he was stabbed by one Randy Sentina, 20, a resident of Central Ilang, who was likewise wounded on the head.

Sentina's companions, Renren Oclarit, 18, and Jaypee Sambayan, 18, both residents of Barangay Ilang, were also wounded. Oclarit sustained a stab wound on the chest while Sambayan was hit in the nape.

There were more members of the rival gang, but they quickly dispersed when authorities arrived leaving behind the four who were still writhing in pain.

The wounded teeners were brought to the Davao Medical Center and are still undergoing treatment.

"Basig grupo-grupo na sila. Mga teenagers man gud na bisan asa naa gyud nang mga ing-ana, ang uban magdala'g mga pana (They might be members of rival gangs. They are everywhere, some even bring improvised darts)," Damasco said. RCO
