Agilas to meet Montaņa first

IT SEEMS Duterte Agilas' revenge against the Cotabato Braves in the Edwin Reyes-Metro Yen Motors Basketball Cup has to be delayed as last-minute changes pits the team against Montaņa Pawnshop instead.

Agilas headcoach Ronel Leuterio said organizers changed their team's rival in the 8 p.m. collision on Friday in Bansalan, Davao del Sur.

"Our team is not yet ready in terms of what I want them to be but we are doing well in trying to install the new system," Leuterio said.

The Agilas were looking forward to avenge their heartbreaking loss to Gov. Manny Piņol's Cotabato Braves, who beat them in a recent tournament held in Digos City.

The Agilas will rely mainly on Richard Caliao, Arvin Bonleon and Erian Daja along with former Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) Blue Knight Mark Anthony Bonifacio, University of Mindanao (UM) Wildcats Louie Medalla, Rey Biņas, Ariel Bonleon, Alexander Bower, Fortunato Coquilla III, Dennisson Miller, Jojit Duremdes, Ritzel Madera, Elias Resurrecion and Arturo Atablanco.

Former PBA cager Cadel Mosqueda will fill in for Leuterio's absence as coach of the Agilas today since the latter has to fly to Cebu for the MILO National Champioships where his team Ateneo de Davao University is entered.

Digos City, BLBE Auto Repair Shop and the Bautista team are also seeing action in the Bansalan tournament.

It offers P100,000 for the team champion, P70,000 for the runner-up and third placer P40,000.

An inter-high school division is also featured where P8,000, P5,000 and P2,000 will be awarded to the top three teams, respectively.

A cash prize of P8,000 will be given to the most valuable players in each category. MLS
