The return of Dawn
By Sadako

BACK to work with Dawn. Another beautiful movie and an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival is "Filipinas" under the direction of Joel Lamangan. It is for this reason that the lovely actress Dawn Zulueta-Lagdameo accepted a role in this film, her third project with Lamangan at the helm.

In an article in the Showbiz Pinoy website, Dawn speaks of her work and her husband (Anton Lagdameo from Davao), and how her husband approved of her joining the project:

It has been six years since she last made a movie, and naturally she felt nervous facing the cameras again. Here are more excerpts from the interview:

Dawn: Madali naman akong nakapag-adjust dahil I have a lot of friends doon.

Ara Mina denies living in with Jomari Yllana. Her latest film to join the Metro Manila Festival is "Fantastic Man", M-Zet Productions and OctoArts Film's entry. She plays Diabolika to Vic Sotto's Fantastic Man, a "kontrabida" role she likes because it will entertain children immensely.

Wala akong double doon at may scene pang naka-harness ako, grabe," says Ara.

She jokingly says not only is the role good, but the talent fee as well (she is reported to have been paid more than a million).

Meanwhile, she evaded the question on cooling off with Jomari. Still, she steadfastly denied living in with Jomari and having a fight where she was reported to have thrown his things outside the house when she asked him to leave.

Lights! Camera! Freeze! Another villain in the making is Miss Freezy, Ruffa Mae Quinto, playing the Ice Queen out to fight Captain Barbell, with Bong Revilla in the title role. Rufa Mae will not be spending Christmas and the New Year in the country, as she will be departing on December 19 for a Christmas holiday in the U.S. together with cager-boyfriend Rudy Hatfield. The trip will allow her the chance to meet Rudy's mom in person, too.

Asked if they're getting married soon after, she replies, "Hindi naman. I think I'm still too young to get married. So is Rudy. I am only 25 while Rudy is 26."

In Captain Barbell, Rufa Mae's Ms. Freezy has the power to turn tons of ice into water or fire. This will mean a lot of special effects and challenging action scenes for the funny sexpot.
