Cash incentives mulled for Davao medallists
THE Sports Development Division (SSD) will recommend the giving of cash incentives to athletes who have made Davao City proud for their sterling performance in the ongoing 22nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in two Vietnam cities.
SDD officer-in-charge Galvani Yanong said he will prepare a proposal for the cash incentives.
"The Davao athletes really pulled of a very impressive performance in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh. I will make recommendation for the City to give them cash incentives for their feats," Yanong said Wednesday.
Yanong cited Lee Vann Corteza, who hails from Green Meadows Subdivision in Mintal, who clinched two golds in 8-ball pool singles and 9-ball pool doubles along with Ryan Fabriga, who also captured two golds in 10-meter platform and 10-meter platform synchronized diving events.
The other Davao medallists were Sydney Olympians Sheila Mae Perez (women's three-meter springboard silver and women's three-meter springboard synchronized bronze) and Zardo Domenios (men's three-meter springboard bronze and men's three-meter springboard synchronized silver).
